We're located at 200 Franklin St. in Melrose.
Faith Church is a community of ordinary people whose lives have been changed by the extraordinary, unmerited grace of God. We often say that we are "imperfect people clinging to a perfect Christ." In other words, we don't have it all figured out, but we do place our trust in Jesus Christ, who lived a perfect life, died on a cross, and rose again on our behalf. Because of what God has done for us, we have committed ourselves to worshiping him, showing his love to others in service of our community, and developing dedicated followers of Jesus.
If you haven't experienced God's love for yourself, or if you aren't currently part of a community that is centered on Jesus and what he has done for us, we would love to have you come get to know us. Through the good news of Jesus Christ God has changed our lives, and we'd love to tell you more about how he can change yours. Feel free to check out this website to find out more about who we are and what we're doing. We're glad you stopped by!
Our church exists to worship God, show his love to others, and develop dedicated followers of Jesus Christ, beginning in the community of Melrose. In other words, we are a community of people who are centered on the good news of Jesus Christ, committed to one another, and connected to the world around us by sharing and showing God's love.
Faith Church is a part of the Advent Christian General Conference. The Advent Christian Church is an evangelical denomination that has been in existence for 150 years, and is a full member of both the NAE (National Association of Evangelicals) and ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability). The name "Advent Christian" refers to its historical emphasis on the Second Advent of Jesus Christ - "Looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus” (Titus 2:13). Advent Christians are characterized by their desire to live in light of the expectation that at any moment the glory of the Son will be revealed and the long awaited hope of all the ages will be upon us as the Lord Jesus returns, the dead in Christ rise to their eternal existence, and we worship and enjoy our eternal King. This fervent hope compels us to boldly proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ who was "delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
On July 19, 1906 the Advent Christian Church of Melrose was organized and it moved to its present location in 1912. Its name was changed to Faith Evangelical Church on April 15, 1969. Faith Church remains committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ and to the sure hope of his second coming.
